graphics window for 1/19/06 update
there's a gamma slider now.. which is cool
but why does it say Renderer Direct X 8 isn't guild wars a direct x 9 game??? correct me.. btw im running ati radeon x800 so dont tell me my card is a dx8 card |

Based on these system specs for the game from the support site, NO GuildWars is Not a 'DX9 Capable Video Card Required' Game. No idea if having the extra Shader support that DX9 provides would help or not.

Your card could have *accidentally* ben set to be in dx8. My friends 9600xt had this problem when he got it.
Not sure exactly how we fixed it, but we did... somehow. |

Guild Wars is DX8 game. Forcing it to DX9 wouldn't help since the game wouldn't take advantage of the DX9 features anyways. Just wait for graphic engine upgrades, if there's any coming. Maybe at a later time.
